Supported media (Video, Images, Streaming) formats
Images
- BMP, GIF, IFF, JPG/JPEG, PCD, PCX, PNG, Targa, Tiff and WMF.
- AnimGIFs are supported, but the color palette is only 256 colors.
- HTML5 animations will work as long as the web clip is not very large (1920x1080).
- Animated PNG is not supported.
- JPG and PNG are preferred but JPG must be in the RGB color space. Do not use CMYK.
- PNG is better for line drawings, text, or anything where exact pixel replication matters, or something else, like a very small image.
Video
- MPEG 1 and 2, WMV and H.264 compression.
- MOV files are supported provided they have H.264 compression.
Streaming Video
Players support playback of streams in the following formats:
- H.264: transport streams may be over RTSP/RTP – 30 frames/sec, 3-8 bits.
- MPEG-2: program streams and transport streams can be over RTSP/RTP.
- These streams may be live (“joined in progress”) or on demand and are either unicast or multicast.
